The Yearbook

Folder:
Poetry

Faces crossed out in the yearbook with black marker,

Names smeared with red ink,

I don't care who is the most popular,

I don't care who has the nicest car,

I just want to erase this year from memory.

I don't regret my burning words,

Only the ones that healed the wounds.

It's not my fault you can't deal with yourself.

And I'm sorry to say,

I just don't care anymore.

You got in too deep,

You wanted too much,

From a girl that didn't give enough.

And if love ever existed,

I never saw it.

So I'll sign your yearbook in red ink,

Wish you a good summer,

Maybe I'll see you next year.

Erase this year from my memory....

Goodbye.
