It's been almost three years

Since the first day we met

Sometimes it's been hard

And there are things we regret



I still remember the day

And the first things we said

I hold them dear to my heart

So that I'll never forget



I remember your voice

That night when you cried

The pain in your heart

I could tell you had died



The blame was all mine

And there was nothing to hide

I could tell without question

You could see inside



These feelings

We've never kept them locked away



But really

Why is it so hard to say



I love you

This much has never changed

You've reached inside the heart of me and stolen all the pain
