You stole my heart

And I can't figure why

I can't seem to keep you

From running through my mind



There is no hope

Because this will never be

More than a friendship

But I'll still wait patiently



For you to see that

I'm standing right here

I want to be your angel

And to take away your darkest fears



I want to hold you in my arms tonight

Even though none of this seems right

To me you're like a breath of life

Taking away all my pain and strife



Love is a dagger

Bleeding through my heart

A thousand layers of anger

That I can't tear apart



It's killing me

And now the world can see

I'll never be whole

Until my angel is set free



Tears falling down

Like rain drops on the ground

She means so much and yet

I can't tell her what I've found



I want to hold you in my arms tonight

Even though none of this seems right

To me you're like a breath of life

Taking away all my pain and strife



My eyes are shut

And my arms held wide

Waiting for the day

My angel can see inside



What she will find

Is hers to keep

Passion undetected

That lurks deep inside of me



But she'll never know

The way I really feel

She'd just turn her head away
