Warrentless SurveilanceExpires Dec 31, 2017

Changing Section 702 seems to be the concensus, not deleting and thus ending it. Government needs more internet bandwidth to execute a broader surveillance on (well) everyone who uses a computer or cell phone. Carte blanche. They store it and can recall it upon demand. Instant profiling. What else is in the text of Section 702 that it can not be removed and discontinued.

There are a few problems. Firstly, If I ever shoot a Senator, plug in my name and read everything I've ever posted on line. Boys and Girls you know I'm going to be in trouble. Shooting the Senator will pale compared to my poetry. Secondly, it is supposed to be for "international crime" right? Sure. I hate to think what that has twistedly evolved into since it's inception. Would love to see the budget figures running that program, bye the bye. My tax dollars sweating and why Social Security keeps getting RAIDED for cash.

Truth is, most people are pretty boring. Face it, we try to be dynamic but end up hitting the  glass ceiling to  fame or recognition. It is not that we are not free - it's how we use it or allow others to dilute it. Marching gets media and politicians look up for that. Lobbyist get first access and campaign contributors, the voter gets a speech at election time--no one knew or predicted the general disaffection of voters with Washinton in the last election. Went right over their heads. People are pissed!

.

Billions will go into chronicling lots of boring American lives to find a few bad sharks. Stopping the terror beforehand is the selling point, national security for safer streets the argument--you get strip searched on the phone as well as at the airport. That is erosion of freedom - if made perment, it's fascism. I did not elect the FBI or the CIA or NSA or Homeland. I did not. They are literally TAKING LIBERTIES. Like bad oceans that are dying, not now so not a problem. When they arrest you and your family for learning Arabic or hosting an exchange student from the middle east - that's when you will see the fish floating among the dead seaweed. Paranoia is not the absolute focus for security. Making the public fear should not be our sole motivation when designing security policy.

.

End net neutrality? The policing entities of the world Governments want more surveillance capability aimed at me texting or e-mailing friends and relatives. Or worse, making it difficult for me to connect with them or other GROUPS.  Come on! Really!

We have been through this before. It is not new. I'm just sayin'.
