Heard on NPR since advent of internet, humans are less compassionate or empathetic. Offering anonymously in comments are colder, based on the study. We used to blame movies, before that, books. Constant bombardment of true Horror world-wide now has caused emotional retreat Or retardation. Fear, of bombs falling on you daily also overwhelms individusls. Isolation has affected us adversely. We are all over-due: GIVE SOMEBODY WHO NEEDS ONE A HUG! A kiss on the forehead and two words: "I understand."
