I had no business

out in the snow today

rolling frozen water

across the lawn

picking up the leaves

I missed in autumn

pulling up dirt

and grass.

.

Ma, pa, and sonny

have branching twigs

for arms. Then it really

got good to me and I 

added scarves, hats, 

and some kinte cloth

because they are

an African American

snowfamily.

.

One hat is a Spartan

green and white santa

hat. Go Spartans!

.

Giant checkers in red

and black make the

eyes, mouth, buttons.

Real carrot noses.

I'm gonna miss those

carrots later.

.

For a few hours

I felt like a kid again.

Tomorrow will feel

like 66 years old

and my back will

feel my age.
