Grandfathers Baseball

My grandfather’s old baseball still sits at the back of my mind. I remember the really banged up ball in his drawer slowly gathering dust with the time passing by. One day we were watching a baseball game when I was around 10 years old and I reminded him of his dusty baseball in his drawer. He sat and thought for a minute, he then looked at me and told me that it was the first baseball that he ever had when he was a kid. He told me that he caught it in his first baseball game, I think he told me it was the Red Sox vs the Detroit Tigers back when he was my around my age. He told me that almost every day he would play with it with his brothers and that he kept it all these years. It was a very special possession of his, that is why he kept it safely in his drawer but told me that he had forgot about it for at least the last 10 years. We then continued to watch the game, and when the game ended he told me if I wanted to play catch with him. I didn’t hesitate and said yes, I told him if he had any other baseballs but he told me to go get his old baseball. I rushed upstairs grabbed two gloves the baseball and ran back downstairs, outside and towards the garden. We played the whole evening, he showed me some of his throwing techniques and some of the games he played with his brothers. We both lost track of time, when suddenly my grandmother called us in because the sun was already starting to go down, we both groaned but agreed to head back. I was exhausted so I rushed to the kitchen for a big glass of water and brought my grandfather another one. After that my mother told me it was time to head back home, I didn’t want to leave and asked her If we could stay a little more time but it was late. I said goodbye to my grandmother, my uncles and lastly my grandfather. But before I left he called me and put his old baseball in my hand, he told me to keep it and take care of it. I still have it to this day.

I would like to read this

I would like to read this please, but the lack of space makes this off-putting. Please let me know if you give this breathing room, because this actually seems really interesting. I suspect it's good but it needs room to breath like a nice wine.
