Wet Wings

A very wise owl glimpsed at a colony of caterpillars, colonies of leaves and mud made a magnificent place to stay the autumn, in one of many little leave built house there lays a kid caterpillar being put to sleep with his mother's stories of great pilots: these are called butterflies, they go on endless adventures to find the most colourful landscapes known to larva-kind, filled with endless supplies of pollen cupcakes. But great prizes come with great effort and training they even have a language of there own, the mother said softly, is it really difficult mom? asked the kid, well your father and I have been talking about it and ... and we were thinking on taking you to flying lessons, the kid cheered up, when can I begin? said the kid, everything has its time and place said the mother, besides you still have chores to complete, for now you stay on the house and don't go anywhere tomorrow son, since dad and I are leaving for winter supplies, goodnight for now! said the mother before leaving the room.

The next day the kid cheeked if their parents were gone, not in the kitchen, or their room, ...and... clear! He rushed outside to tell his friends he was going to become a pilot, he knocked on the neighbour's door and a strange sound answered, that was not his buddy, the sound was alien to him, the kid got scared and ran way to tell his other friends about this intruder on the house, but these savage noises could be head when he knocked on every door, no adult was there to protect him and he had no better idea than to go search for his parents.

He crawled for weeks without a sign, but one day he saw up in the distance a mountain of colourful flowers like the ones of the stories, food must be there!, this caterpillar was a kid no more, he climbed as hard as he could but the mountain was too steep and the night was setting, he gave up settled down and slept through the disappointment.

A headache woke him, everything was a bit smaller and the sky was never quite as blue, he stretched wide only to see his fresh wings, with excitement he spread his wings and he tried to fly as high as he could, but his moist body would not elevate one bit, he worried some more because he never went to training, maybe his luck robed him the chance to fly, sad and powerless he turned the other was and walked back home.

Suddenly a giant owl landed in front of him! knees were shaking, worry not said the owl, harm is not my intent, what is it then? responded the fly, to tell you I saw it all since the beginning, and since your family migrated up the mountain and you were not patient to wait for instructions on flight, you never knew the first hours your wings will be to humid to fly and this is not a reason to give it all up, I as a flying owl myself can understand the difficulty of ones first flight, so be careful and don't rush it, there is a time for it all.
