WHEN

When you are away,

My heart drops to the floor.

I miss you so much,

It hurts right to the core.

When I'm at work,

And someone opens the door,

My heart fills with hope,

Beating a million a minute,

My eyes look up.

But before they can see,

My heart stops.

My hope fades.

I know it's not you,

But I look anyways.

As I had guessed,

It wasn't you,

And dissapointment takes hold.

When you are away,

My heart drops to the floor.

I miss you so much,

It hurts right to the core.

I'm sitting in my room,

a thousand miles from near

the one I love. You, my dearest.

I can see your smile.

I can hear your laugh.

I can see your eyes,

And how they shine.

I can smell your smell,

But my eyes start to tear,

Because that's not you!

I love you near or far,

But most of all, person to person.

When you are away,

My heart drops to the floor.

I miss you so much,

It hurts right to the core.

Standing in a crowd,

Alone without you,

Everyone so darn loud.

I hear a voice,

A voice very familiar and dear to me.

I turn to look,

As my heart fills,

My body becomes hot.

Butterflies take over,

And my eyes start to rover.

I search, though I know it can't be.

I hope, but...

I know it can't be.

I hear the voice again,

I find it's source,

How could I be such a fool!

His voice is not yours.

He is not you.

My heart empties,

My body turns cold,

My day becomes grey.

When you are away,

My heart drops to the floor.

I miss you so much,

It hurts right to the core.

I love your smile,

And I love your kiss.

I love you with great happiness!

I love your arms,

And how they wrap around me.

I love how you feel,

And how you make me feel.

But when you are away,

I Miss You...
