Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust
No matter how hard I try
I'll fall to the Earth's crust.
Try I may
Try I might
To live on forever
It'll be quite a fight
My body will decay
Become one with the Earth
Yet forever I will live
As if I were given another birth.
Immortality will be mine
Just not physically
I will surely die
Yet live on for eternity
I will be remembered
My name will be known
Like the rich and famous
Or the artists we all know.
My poetry will be read
My life will be remembered
For years after my death
I will live on forever.
