Battlefield
I lay here, gasping,
Blood flows down my paws,
My eyes flicker sideways,
As the light begins to fade.
This is the life of a warrior,
A cruel one 'tis.
Sacrificing all for your friends,
To fight against evil and injustice.
I recall my comrades,
All brave beasts they were,
Fearing nothing as they leapt,
Into the very heat of battle.
I am alone now,
With nobeast to comfort me,
I feel my life crumbling,
Sinking into a dark bottomless pool.
Now I close my eyes,
I feel light and happy,
As I draw in one last breath,
Laying on this battlefield.
