Respect

Your respect makes me stand

Upright like a man.

But the sea is my home, all alone.

And although my heart

I hold out in my hands

My honor is at risk, so I won't.

So the sea is my life,

My wife, my air,

And to her alone I am true.

But if ever someday

I shall lay eyes upon you,

In your heart, to be sure, I'll be there.
