At A Temple Guard's Morning Break
[cf Luke 2:38b]
Did you see Simeon today? How can a
wise, reputable and well spoken man
cut such a shine---considering his span
of years? And, likewise, that old woman, Anna
(some say she has a gift of prophecy;
no evidence has been found . . . publicly):
both of them had become rather excited
when they set sight upon a certain baby
(the parents were not local people; maybe
from far off, even, perhaps, Galilee).
Those two old folks were utterly delighted
to look upon that infant---their old eyes,
were bright with joy and something of surprise.
But who they thought they saw?---do not ask me.
