What you know?

Folder:
Hyacinth garden

Like the saying goes, we all have our own cross too bear.

In love or in war, they say that all is fair.

Well, they never tell you, when it comes to heartache,

Not everybody gets an equal share.

Look at the faces getting on and off the train.

I see it in many, too many eyes that reflect the same pain.

I see those who can hide it with a smile.

And others who laugh so they do not start crying.

I love them just the way they are.

I am just like them, I need the sun too,

Like me and you, everybody is a star.

I've loved and I've lost.

I do not want to know what you know.

I've held love sacred, what was the cost.

I do not want to be where you go.

This is not a movie, it is not a show.

Don’t tell me where you are.

Don’t show me your new car.

Don’t invite me to meet your friends at the house.

Don’t tell me about your new spouse.

I loved you the way you are.

Like no one else before or since.

Slow and sweetly.

Hard and long, as I could last.

Calm and living, day to day.

I will not arouse the past.

So separated, so far away.

I cannot look back

I've loved and I've lost.

I do not want to know what you know.

I've held love sacred, what was the cost.

I do not want to be where you go.

This is not a movie, it is not a show.

I've lived and I am dying a little more each day.

I do not want to know, the cost is a little too high to pay.

I've held love in the palm of my hand, how did I play?

I cannot be where you are, where you want to be.

This is my real life, it is not a game, but I will be its star just the same.
