Your Friend

I feel it inside, your crying,

that your heart may be dying.

I tried to understand what you were saying

and realize the price you were paying.

I only wanted to be your friend.

But I was the worst one to listen to your fears

because I just can't stand to see your tears

and I don't think I can bear it any longer.

If there's one thing of comfort I can say

it's that I hope there may come a day

that you find someone who feels much stronger.

I think that in the end

my heart was but a whispering wind

and I just wanted to hold your hand.

So if you'll allow just one moment,...please

A touch of God's love I think is what you need

And I will always be your friend.

Author's Notes/Comments:

For someone in pain, though it kills you inside, to ease their sorrow.

Dear Jeromy, It's been my experience that a lot of people who are really needy do need to lean on God rather than on other people. Your advice is good and your voice is compassionate. Thanks. Carla
