If You Need to Hear It From Me

There were so many moments

I could’ve spoken, but stayed still,

And yesterday moved in perfect rhythm

As the hours had their will.

Girl, I know you’re tired of hearing

“You’re right, I’m wrong,” from me—

So let me finally say the truth

My heart’s held quietly…

If you need to hear from me,

I still dream of you each night.

And even though I never speak in sleep,

I’d whisper I love you ’til the morning light—

For the rest of my life, girl, faithfully.

If you need to hear from me.

That glow you carry in the dark

Still steals the breath from my chest,

And when you whisper “Lamar,” so soft,

My whole spirit forgets the rest.

Girl, you spark a thousand thoughts

That race like they’re designed—

So let’s run this track together, love,

God’s blueprint intertwined.

If you need to hear from me,

I still dream of you each night.

And even though I never speak in sleep,

I’d whisper I love you ’til the morning light—

For the rest of my life, girl, faithfully.

If you need to hear from me.

How Your Words Still Echo in Me

Hearing you say it’s a beautiful piece… that stays with me. I wrote it with a lot of feeling, and knowing it reached you that way makes the whole thing glow a little brighter.
