Poetry of My Bahamian Origin Aquafresh grins spill like morning light,
Your laughter paints the clouds in colors bright,
My world slows down in air I never knew,
When all I see begins with you.
Brown eyes that hold oceans, calm and wide,
Where my restless dreams drift in and hide,
Each glance a spark, a whispered flame,
That calls my soul by its true name.
The night leans in, the stars lean too,
They envy all I find in you,
And though the moon keeps watch above,
It bows before this kind of love.
So let me stay in this embrace,
Where time dissolves without a trace,
For you, every dawn is worth chasing,
When I’m with you—I'm just smile gazing.
No force can hold anyone of us down,
When one is near, the other wears the crown,
Of moments stolen, soft and deep,
Promises are meant to keep.
Let the atmosphere ignite,
Chasing shadows, finding light,
High above the fear and trailblazing,
Forever lost in the afterglow of me gazing.
So let me stay in this embrace,
Where time dissolves without a trace,
For you, every dawn is worth chasing,
When I’m with you—I'm just smile gazing.
