And the cold sweats that I’ve awoken
Your picture becomes a colorful canvass of life in front of me
Painted here on my heart, the distance between us too great to bear
Your assuring words flow through me like the wind
The beauty of a rose bestowed upon you
Channeling all of your love unto this
By the lakes you stand and wait for me
For this day to know that I cannot come
Yet with hope, you continue to stand your ground
Defending it, believing in everything we’ve fought
Draped over my heart with poison
Embrace me to give me the antidote
A cold flame that burns between two distant hearts
Your eyes tell me stories of your thoughts
It reflects the words of your heart
And in these words, I confide in you
It never seems to fade
The words that we digitize
Hold a bond just as strong spoken
A friendship with possibilities of greater growth
Know no limits or boundaries
But are slashed by uncompromising circumstances
Hear the words I speak of now
Your heart is of golden light
Compassion deeper than any poetic word
Love that is greater than the universe
For this time I long to embrace you
