The Resort 7-10-00

Folder:
2000

Pool and pizza in the tavern.

Swimming and diving into the lake.

Pop and cards in the cabin,

At five to six a.m. you awake.

Complaint circes around the fire.

Listening to all sorts of "Gwamma Stories".

Eating hotdogs from oscar meyer.

Up at the resort you won't have any worries.

People are friendly and they care.

There are plenty of things to do.

The cabins are old, so they have some wear.

There are many fish in the lak for you.

Now times have changed,

And everything is different.

They even had the cabins newly arranged.

People have stoped coming, they've been spent.

The employees have goe to the pits.

In the tavern, there's electronics everywhere.

The cabins are begining to look like shit.

We won't be coming back here anymore.

Looking back on all the summers we've had.

We've had so much fun being together.

Coming up here with Aunts, Grandparents,Moms and Dads.

During sunshine, cold, even stormy weather.

We'll miss this plave oh so very much.

It will always be in our memories.

Taking boat rides, swimming and such.

We will always remeber, even in our dreams.

We've had our laughs, we've had our cries,

Through post cards that we send.

All of this eventually dies,

And we seem to come to an end.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Every year since I was about 2 my family and I would go to a resort in Michigan. Now that everything has changed, we won't be going there any longer, but the memories of all the years will always be with me.
