The Beauty of a Rose

The Beauty of a Rose

A rose bloomed in the garden

I watched it grow

From a sleeping seed

From beneath the winter snow

It rose above the frost

Still hard upon the ground

With leaves of green

And petals all around

Just one day of warmth

Was all it really needed

To bloom to life

From the soil beneath it

But then the very next day

There came a snap of winter

The chill froze the flower

In cold icey fingers

It's colors soon faded

On the ground decayed.

It lay on the ground

Dried up and gray

And  I thought to myself

As I looked on the ground

At this onceBeautiful flower

Now shirveled and brown

How quickly its life pass on

From this life to another

But one days living was enough

To let me enjoy its Beauty
