Through Our Valley

 

"Who's that walking through our valley?"

Dodging glances shooting my way

"Walking through our sacred land,

The boy from high atop that mountain."

 

He must have fallen

Taken heed

The more you climb, boy

The less you need

But, the less you need, boy

The less you see

 

It got so lonely touching Heaven

Carrying out conversations with my own image

Cause, though you can learn a lot, it's never enough

To make it worth all you've given up

 

Down in this lowly land

Where bread and wine are fought for

It's hard thinking back

Looking up at where I was

And, not wonder why

Or, what I came down for

 

Now, I see the truth in their lie

That lowly souls can see so much more

Though, now I know it's not with eyes

But, with what a heart can long for

 

"Who's that walking through our valley?"
