Forget To Find Me

A diamond

A needle in the hay

A band buried, now tossed away

Years of heartache

Leaning into dams

Now, dams giving way

Rain, inching up

Riverbanks and wind washing away

Clay stitching up the crystal

Gray covering the sky until

Only blue sky remains

Sunlight shining

Moonlight, now too bashful to stay

Soon I may find my own way

To her heart

Finally start

Feeling whole and brave

I ran in circles

Clouds blooming above me

Making it worse

Always assuming

I'd never escape

She'd forget to find me

Now, she's inching up

Walls and barriers cutting away

Clay stitches from the crystal

Gray blankets behind which

Beautiful, blue sky remains
