One-In-A-Million

Rain, you keep on falling

Flashing your light bulbs

With filaments so bright

They’re doomed to burn out quick, but strong

I wish you came earlier

Found my skin a bit drier

And, a little less salty

My eyes, a little less red

And, a bit more glowing

You balloon up so tall and heavy

And, drop your weighty loads

As the concrete curbs begin blushing

At the enormity of strength you hold

I’m just another one-in-a-million

Just like the drop that just hit my cheek

And, ran down my heart filled chest

Toward the part of me I hope one day another one-in-a-million finds rest

I wish you came earlier

Though, I’m so glad now that you’ve come
