Thirsty Sieves

The news fell from an open sky

Clouds arose and in blew the bitter wind

And, tears fell after I learned

Of how the world must turn with feet to the air

Before you figure out how to live love without fear

I found a hundred times before

Words and verses to thank and damn the curses of this life

Now I know how wrong I’ve been

Searching within my skeleton skin

For a key to unlock my ribs

And, shock beating back

Into the rhythm of words and verses of a loving heart

Drip, drop, drip, drop

Tick, tock, tick, tock, tick, tock, tick, tock, of the ticking clock

Pin pricks in the bottom of rain clouds

And, down drops the ticking tocks

As the talking bird of the ticking clock proudly sounds

Another moment drowned

As the dripping clouds strain out like thirsty sieves

I found a hundred times before

Words and verses to thank and damn the curses of this life

Now I know how wrong I’ve been

Drip, drop...

Tick, tock...

Drip, drop...

Tick, tock...

Stop.

Live, love...

Live, love...

Now.
