Find My Feet

Savage, raging through the sea

“Give peace a chance.”

Signs held high, and

“Sometimes peace ain’t free.”

One man thinks opposite another man’s belief

Children die as women scream

“It’s not your body,” and

“Just let the babies breathe.”

I’ve got to find my feet

Stop this train from billowing steam

Before the distance spans further than the bridge can reach

I ran in circles all night long

On my calloused feet

And, “Hey, kid, it won’t amount to anything.”

But, “Do your best to live your dreams.”

The mountain peaks seem so tall

Higher than I’ve ever seen

And, I’ve heard, “The higher the ladder, the further the fall.”

But, “Sometimes it takes a fall to find your wings.”

So, I’ve got to find my feet

Start these wheels and gain some steam

Before all the conflicting wisdom breeds indifference in me
