High, My Heart To Heaven

High, my heart to heaven

Beating as if a hummingbird’s wings

Silent as she sings

The words without a melody

I am without you

Glorious in my loneliness

The story books have told us

Of a woman so beautiful

No man of her could hold

Righteous men have lusted

The way a dirty man withholds

His tired and tested soul

Behind a beard and a mask of earth

For if any man has seen

They cannot deny their sight

For the love of God is an exposing light

To the desire hidden within

So seek and maintain some control

For I have sought and received many things

Of the earthly realm, I am not proud

Of my sinful and sin-filled shroud

I am in debt for ever

Without an ounce of gold to pay

For forgiveness, Lord give us

Strength to preserver through the day

Though, we deserve not the debt You forgave

We are thank-filled in our souls
