And, in the darkness of a forest so thick and daunting

I lost all but the very shell of hope

The same way leaves like to hold tightly to winter oaks

And, somehow, Lord, You knew just what I needed

The smallest hint of light scattered the dark

Threw the stars into the moon and ignited my heart

And, now I know the shadows where nothing more than You

Extinguishing my own desires

And replacing them with Your loves burning fire

According to Your will

Teach me to commit myself fully to You

But, You gently drew me in with the tenderness of Your Son

Gave me Faith I’d never known

Now, Lord, my whole life is Yours alone

From today until You raise the dust of my bones

To sing praise and thanksgiving to the Holiest One

According to Your will

Teach me to submit myself wholly to You

According to Your will

Teach me to commit myself fully to You

And, only to You

Now, Lord, I commit into Your hands the essence of me

My mind, my heart, and bones

My life, my love, my soul

And, everything You created me to be

Lord, let me be only
