I have given up on giving up

I have learned a lesson way too late

So many days and so many nights

I felt the world, I felt its weight

And I'd enjoy that second for just one moment

But before I knew it, that moment was gone



Yeah, I used to get off to that stuff

But hey, I was confused by your love

When you meant what you said

But didn't say what you mean

Honestly, what was I supposed to think

When you hint what you want

But never say what you need



I used to hide my fears behind my lies

I used to pick myself apart until there was bone

But I figured out that the negative pulls you down

And that in a glass house you can't throw any stones

And I'd enjoy that second for just one moment

But before I knew it, I had to move on

It's time to be true to myself

God knows, I haven't been in the past

And who knows if this scar will last
