Yeah you, such a pretty little face

In such a petty little place

And deserving has nothing to do with getting

But coming around you get what you deserve

Yeah you, such a pretty little lie

In such a petty little life



And being happy isn't hinged on freedom

The world's all yours but you can't grasp it

And living life like a perfect little child

It's all going to bite you sometime in life

Don't you know nice guys finish last



Yeah you, with that smile on your face

You live life, but to you it's a waste

And loving has everything to do with hate

But everything you hate you seem to love

Yeah you, with that smile on your plate

But on that silver platter you break



And being bad isn't balanced by forgiveness

The worlds a cruel place but you can't get past it

And holding the key doesn't mean locks turn

It's a door you'll never open on your own

But don't you know it's better over there



Yeah you, with that cynical grin

Lies surround, when you have political friends

And the truth is never what will make amends

But amends are what seems to bring the truth

Yeah you, with that cynical stare

Looking down on me, but I don't care



And changing has nothing to do with breaking walls

The mind-state is the only way to come through

And having the questions doesn't show weakness

It's something we all have to find on our own

But don't you ever quit searching, it's out there
