one brick

It is great to be a thinker

but one must base one’s conclusions

on facts not assumption

If someone gives you a brick

don’t go and build a house with it

and then accuse him or her of that house

for they only gave you a brick

The brick may have been part of

a wall, a walkway, a BBQ pit

or anything else

but you assumed a house

and now the only part that is true

is what they gave you

the rest is a lie

that you believe and now run with

In fact if you choose to live

in the house of suppositions

built on foundation

of faulty conjecture

you live there alone

If you choose to move out

and tear it down

brick by brick, lie by lie

you will do it alone

For only one brick was truth

The one in the corner

that you threw away

for the many lies

you traded it in for

Pride and arrogance

makes us jump to conclusions

for we think more of ourselves

than we ought to

therefore less of others

than we should
