Only Human

I release you to be human

For that's your Genesis formation

You are Gods creation

Never designed to be altered, twisted

or torn, by dark entities enmity and segregation

for that would be abomination.

I know you've been taught to wear a tight mask

Taught to be a robot at monotonous, redundant task

I release you to be human. I release you to be free

To require else would be inhumane

To go it alone is isolation, causing stress and strain.

You were never meant to walk alone

with no umbrella in the rain

So distracted by window pains of life's frames

No time to straighten crooked pictures on your wall

No one gets the real picture, so they never call

They think all is well

The long and short of it

You never tell

For fear, they may see

You are only human

Saved by God's grace

Yet you wear the same face

The title you carry

doesn't mirror your soul

No amount of entitlement

can make you whole

Becoming one with the Son

is the ultimate goal

Recognizing your humanity

in humility

snaps you into reality

that you are only human

Father, I lay my frail humanity

before your sovereignty

You alone can make me more

In my weakness I see and know

Your strength perfectly in my core.

You've given me permission

to be real, to admit what I really feel

to admit when I'm frail, shaken and afraid

You've given me permission to

Trust You to and thrust on You

All my care

It's too heavy to bear

My natural strength can’t carry the load

When I depend on you

I can travel this road . . .victoriously!

For I am only human, reformed by God

I am human, washed in His blood

I am only human, vulnerable and naked I stand

I am covered by His Mighty Hand

Directed by His perfect plan, for me

I am only human, filled with His Spirit

I am broken, but in His presence I shift

I’m whole

Hold me Lord, Comfort my soul

I lay all I am and all I am not

At your feet

I stand on your Word and know

my enemy is under my feet

When I trust in you

when I depend on You with my all

When I don’t hesitative to call on You when I fall

When I wait on you, I am strengthened,

I run, I am elevated

I am your child

I soar

Becoming like you even more

Becoming more than human
