I met this girl one day
She had a kind heart
And much good to say
I never saw her without a smile
Her faith in humanity was amazing
For people she'd walk a million miles
Her heart out on her sleeve
Hands out for everyone
She accepted people with ease
And then something changed
She became quite bitter
Her soul quietly stained
Lost faith in humanity
Hid her heart deep within
And pleaded insanity
Everything was clearer
What became of this girl
Then I looked in the mirror
The whole world had changed.
