Take me as I am

I'm not holding anything back

I'm not making any excuses

For the things that I might lack

I smile when I see rain clouds

And I cry when I feel pain

I'm on the losing end of winning

With nothing left to gain



I'm looking at the stars

Wondering which one's bound to fall

I'm tending to my scars

Learning to walk again from a crawl

I have a ravished soul

Beating holes inside my heart

It's screaming in its anguish

Learning not to fall apart



Take me as I am

As I dance under the moon

I laugh in the rain

And get angry too soon

I'll take all the right things wrong

And all the wrong things right

But at least I'm not a fake

And I won't give up this fight
