Friends

Built on the need for trust

To see it go down is to see metal rust

The more we talk the better the health

To be open to you is being myself

Don't hold back and there's no drama

From your day clothes to your pajamas

I've seen them both when I was trying to seek

Your love and affection led to the kiss on your cheek

Forgetting the past and all it had meant

Going any further would lead to a permanent dent

You were right from the start

I see clearly now hoping we won't part

Remember us together in the "long run"?

Whoever said that it couldn't be done

Forgot the race is better to run with a friend

Than to lose it all and live seeking amends

You'll be my innocence

And I'll be your sense

Forever in existence

Our friendship has prevalence

You'll never know. . .

Author's Notes/Comments:

This is to my dearest and best friend Jessica. Love ya sis! Been through a lot and you're so awesome. This is one of my favorite poems that I've done, because it truly made me happy to have such a good friend.
