The Last Word

The Last Word

As the Day turns to night, they started to fight.
Screaming and shouting, stomping the floor!
Things banging and clanging, even the door.
She made him so mad. He punches the wall!
He is so mad, she throws a curved ball.
She tells him he's leaving, on a long trip.
To pack up his things! Go on, get a grip.
As he storms out the door, with that look in his eye.
He questions himself and then asks, Why?
Life is so good, a new car and CD.
A washer and dryer, and a brand new TV?
What made it so bad, it tightened her jaws!
She picked up the phone. It was Cindy who called!
