My dad's model airplanes

My father kept his model airplanes in a room downstairs. He has like 30 of them and now a day he never uses them. He used to go to fly them every Saturday with some other friends that liked them too. He started this hobby thanks to my uncle, his brother. My uncle used to have a lot of airplanes too. The day my father started to show interest on this, he decided he was going to make them himself. He is an engineer so at the beginning, part of the fun was putting the plane together. He would spend hours and hours in that room downstairs, concentrated and enjoying every part of it. I remember he even bought a video game that simulated the flying in real life. He would also spend a lot of time playing the videogame. He used to break a lot of airplanes while he was playing, but also in real life. He used to love to have us there when he was doing this. I have a great memory of this time that we went to see how he flew them, for us it was really funny to see how concentrated he was, trying to land the model plane and then ended up breaking it, I don’t think it was that funny for him. Anyways he always used to laugh with us, even though we could see that it was hard for him every time he broke one. After a while he started to buy the planes that were already putted together. He used to tell us that he spent more time putting together the plane than the time he actually spent flying it. I remember that every time he broke a plane he was hurt or maybe a little disappointed on himself but he didn’t stop flying them. After a lot of trying he actually became very good at it. He still loves to fly them but he cant anymore. The place where he used to fly them is at the outsides of Torreon. When the insecurity started at Torreon it was hard for him to keep going that far. He didn’t want to expose himself or us by keep going all the way there. We knew that it was worse over there than where we lived, there were a lot of shootings. He showed me that if you try hard on doing something, you could accomplish anything. This is the way my father think and that is something that I admire a lot. He thinks that with hard work and determination you can do whatever you want.
