Several years ago, there were only few cds in my house. As the time pass by, the number of cds increased. My father has cds everywhere. It is astonishing how many cds and music he has. There is a lot of furniture totally full of CDs in the house. He has more than 1500. These are in order, by gender and class of music. There are cds of salsa, son, Cuban music and charanga, those are the most common. The “charanga” is not a very common music in the world. Actually there are only few people that know about it, but this gender is one of the favorite types of music of my father. The most of his music is very old. In many occasions he says to me, “This song I heard it for first time when I have like 3 or 4 years old.” He likes this type of music because of his grandfather and father. When he was a little boy, they played every day this kind of music. He knows where he put each cd and if you take one, he will know it. It is really impressive how he can learn and remember where each cd is. Yes, my father is a cd collector. Every day he listen at least one, and to every party we go, a bunch of cds go with us. When we go to stores of cds, I notice that sometimes my father has more music than they. Also he likes to record cds to other people. Actually many friends and family come with him to see his collection and they choose some cds to record them. He can stay hours in the computer recording music. Some friends also share music with him. Sometimes he finds that he has some repeated, but he does not care, he only gives those to other people. He likes so much to collect music. He enjoy the time he spent in looking music. For him is time of peace, relaxation and of doing what he really likes. It is amazing to see how a simple thing as a cd can make a person so happy. I also like his taste for music and sometimes we hear, dance and pass good and beautiful moments together as family. The cds are the object more valued for him, he love them. His collection is very big and I do not doubt that in some years he will have around 5000.
