ICED TEARS

Long ago

she sat

she stared in the frosted glass

mesmerized

defeated

after trying without succeeding

to open her mouth wide enough

rotating the glass

once to the left

twice to the right

with her tongue

which was

never quite as sharp

as the knives and darts

that pained her

no matter

she still could not catch

the

Ice cubes

that cooled

her

Iced tea

her

iced tears

frozen solid

like the memory

of her heart

dragged down ankered with cement

NOW

she mesmerized

by he

she sees his perfection's reflection

him

he who be her newbie sweetie

the ice has

dissapated

her tongue no longer

needs 2 reach

her iced tears

have turned 2

hot chocolate

and now

she cuffs the mug

in the corner booth

of her favorite cafe

and

licks the sweet whipped cream

that the knowledge of

him lovin her creates

within her heart

she is warm now

no more iced tea

no more

iced tears
