Desperate and alone

I’m never enough

Fears consuming

No diamond in the rough 

Cascading down

Tears flood my face

Broken heart and soul

Will I ever have a place?

A loving home

In someone’s arms

Who won’t let me go

And protects from harm

The longing hurts

Wishes and hope

They falter with time

Till you can’t cope

Blurring the skies

Floating through life

Maybe one day

I’ll have no strife

Darkness and loss

They’ll finally die

Buried forever

And my love will fly
