Moods

How I feel and what I do

should not be determined by an angry few.

On me, alone rests my tone and set

for I can enjoy or I can fret.

May I choose right and not regret

and do right and not upset.

No somber mood can bring me down,

if I employ a joyful clown.

No discontented, ne'er do well

can pay my ticket into hell.

I must avoid the murky gloom

that follows him into the room.

No sickly, sweet and honeyed embrace

can make me loose my waiting space.

I'll choose hope's eternal grace

and keep the glow upon my face.

No angry moods, however strong,

should move my own moods along.

A proper way to happier be -

let my moods build a better me!
