Hedonistic instant gratification
Consentual abuse
Choosing animalistic desires
Over carefully concealed deeper needs
Still deceiving yourself
Realistic, without expectations
But underneath the shallow water
The core is pulsing
Incorrect assumptions litter the sidewalk
They overestimate their power
I'm fully aware of occurring damages
But exhausted beyond effort
The facade kills the high
Just take it for what it's worth
You can't create something with nothing
Can't dream while you're still awake
Keep numbing yourself with the pills
Choke them down and smile
Smile through the robotic motions
Smile, shrug, just saunter away
