Because of you

Folder:
Family

I watched as my father cried,

each day he tried to fix us all,

he played the referee,

all because of you.

Every time I tried to talk,

I’d say something wrong,

no point saying sorry,

cause you’d never hear.

Stopped caring about living,

wanting to die every day,

all because of you.

I watched the door slam,

watch the silent chair fall,

want to leave this place,

want to get away from it all.

Can’t even cry anymore,

cause you laugh when I do,

want to be free of the fighting,

the yelling and anger,

that’s all because of you.

Watching my father’s heart break,

as the tears stream down my face,

silently hating you,

because I know it’s always because of you.

I watched as you argued,

knowing it’s my fault.

I tried to love you,

but I can only feel hate,

and it’s because of you.

Still hear screams,

see the bruises,

feel the pain in my father’s eyes,

that’s all because of you.

You killed us both,

my father and I,

he’s never been the same.

My heart’s cold now,

and I know, without a doubt,

that it’s all because of you.
