Something Lost and Never Found

The town we lived, no ones around

The floors we've walked, the haunted halls

Boarded windows, vandalized walls

A city is lost, and never found

The people we knew, the conversations

The truth we love, the lies we hate

The tears we've cried, the chains that bound

A heart is lost, and never found

Deep inside, down in our core

Shut in the dark, what we don't know

What is lost, I now can see

A soul is lost, and never found

Author's Notes/Comments:

I've always had the line "Something lost and never found" Run in my mind, like a riddle, and decided to write a poem trying to answer it.
