I sit here and I wonder

What  Would be the best gift to give

We have been friends 16 yrs now

Thru one storm then another

Up one hill and down another

We have stepped ahead of of one another

Only to turn back and grab a hand  

And pull one another thru yet another crisis  



What do you give to ones best friend

Something no other can ever touch



I sit here and i recall

All the yrs  

All the tears

Dylons birth, the day i claimed to hate you

Zach's unexpected presence in this world

Standing in the hall and hearing his first scream

Damon's babyshower, you called crying cause you forgot

When everyone else left my side there you were

Telling me Laney didnt need a father she had her Aunt Pat

Nikki getting her license, dont know who cried worse that day, as we watched *our* little girl drive away...  



Even rember all the sadness we have shared...

The times we yelled and the times we healed...



So here I sit wiping the tears from my face

As I finally know just what to give my best friend on this special day....  





A great big  HUG and the best BIRTHDAY wish anyone could receive...
