seen the fire in your eyes

The love in your heart

But wasnt sure where to start

I knew what I wanted

But wasnt sure I was ready

You gently took my hand

Whispered in my ear

You been waiting for years

Today belongs to you

Squeezing your hand  

Smiling  up at you

And you smiled back at me with pride  

As you walked me down that aisle

Hesitated before you gave up my hand

Hugged me as you wiped away the tears

You paced the floor of the hospital

Holding your newborn grandson

Crying to yourself

As mom told you I was fine

Then came along your name sake  

You were there again when your *other* lil girl was born

And you are still here  

By my side  

Holding my hand

Letting me know

Its ok to be me  

Cause no matter what  

I will always be daddys lil girl
