Letting Go
He called today
we sat there and talked
went thru the motions
but we both knew
the end was here
the day we both dreaded
finally upon us
we both knew from the begining
that nothing was there
just two lonely people
reaching out
touching the first one near
not knowing
not even a care
but the day had finally came
to face reality
to admit
the awful truth
we were nothing but two lost souls
thrown together
in the mids of pain n darkness
searching for our light
a way out of this awful tunnel
the day had finally came
the light
even though dim was there
holdin hands one last time
looking in your eyes
tears flowing
not wanting to let go
but knowing i have to
one last time i kissed those lips
held you in my arms
then looking down at me as if to say
its time
i slowly let go
squeezing your hand
whispering
i love you so
i watch you walk away
knowing in my heart i have done the right thing
