Almost Too Much

June 2010
By Taylor Springs

It was a coincidence
The way we met
Might have been luck
I’m not sure yet
Soon things got happy
My heart was stolen
By a thief
Who’s heart and mind were golden

Days and months
Weeks and minutes
Spent with you
No other people in it
I never minded
I never knew what you were planning to do
I never said love
Even though it was true

You must have seen it different
Something was wrong
Blinded by love
I thought we were so strong
I might have guessed
Or even knew
If I had listened
Bu now I know, we are finished

So many memories
Are packed away
And I’d like to know
Why didn’t you stay?
You made me feel so special
You made me feel so strong
What did I ever do
That could have been so wrong?

These days, I’m trying to live again
See things
The way you saw
Do things
The way you did
I want to make somebody
Feel the way I felt

First love,
Something I can’t forget
Don’t you remember,
Everything we did?

You won’t ever get it
This I know is true
I go through so much
Whenever I’m near you
