MOSUL

God, Allah, give water, electricity, and food

now to the people of Mosul.

Replace the oil which runs in the hearts of

petroplutocrats.. with blood.. of compassion.

Rain in the deserts of Iraq.. awaken fountains

of love in the hearts of all.. awaken fountains

in the deserts. Like all beings, the Mossad

are temples of Your Spirit. Cause them to

help connect Iraqis to water, electricity, food, gas,

and joy.

Statement from Granny D

Granny D (Doris Haddock) is the unstoppable social change activist,
now in her 90s, from the first primary state of New Hampshire. At age
89, she wore out four sets of shoes and was hospitalized in Arizona
for dehydration and pneumonia, but she would not be deterred as she
marched for campaign reform from California to her triumphant arrival
in Washington D.C. 14 months later. Now, she is on the march for Dennis.

"I am proud to endorse Dennis Kucinich for President.

When I walked 3,200 miles across the United States for campaign reform
and inquired of people why they were not voting, they said: 'Find us
someone who understands us, who cares about us.' I'm talking about
people living in trailers, people living in small towns with
boarded-up windows on Main Street, with drugstores, grocery stores,
hardware stores
all eaten up by Wal-Mart, Costco, CVS Drugs, Home Depot, and other
monsters several miles beyond the town. People coming out of
farmhouses in Iowa, squeezed out of their livelihood by stinking
agri-hog farms, people coming out of tobacco fields, cotton fields,
wheat fields, people living in cities who have been out of work for
over a year, people whose well-paid jobs have been shipped overseas,
people desperate for relief from the oppressions of our corporatized
and disempowered lives.

I promised to look for someone who would understand them, that had a
vision of the future for them, that believed in Peace, Love, Justice.
Well, here he is: Dennis Kucinich.

I believe he is the candidate who can bring new voters and disgruntled
voters into the political process.

To those people I met on my walk across America: 'Now keep your
promise to me and come out and vote for him! Hugs.'"

Statement from Randy Hayes (president, Rainforest Action Network)

"Economic policy turns out to be the most important environmental
policy. Kucinich is the only presidential candidate calling for the
elimination of the World Trade Organization. That alone would do more
to support nature's needs than any other environmental action. Vote
for Kucinich."

REP. LYNN WOOLSEY ENDORSES KUCINICH FOR PRESIDENT

Today, Congresswoman. Lynn Woolsey (D-CA) announced her endorsement of
Dennis Kucinich for President. A leader in the U.S. House on issues
ranging from children, families and women's rights to peace, nuclear
non-proliferation and economic justice, Woolsey represents a Northern
California district in which Kucinich has campaigned often since
joining the race several months ago. Woolsey and Kucinich have worked
closely on many issues as leaders of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

"The issues Dennis Kucinich fights for are the issues I fight for,"
said Rep. Woolsey. "He supports peace, civil rights and the fight for
working families that are important to me and the people of Marin and
Sonoma Counties. If my district were the whole country, Dennis
Kucinich could certainly be our next president. He offers the sharpest
contrast to George W. Bush of any candidate running, and we appreciate
that distinction." (6/19/2003)

David C. Korten, Ph.D., Author, When Corporations Rule the World

The 2004 U.S. presidential election will be a defining moment for the
United States. In Dennis Kucinich we have the opportunity to replace
the most arrogant, corrupt, dishonest, extremist, and dangerous
administration in our nation's history with an administration led by
one of the most dedicated, honest, and visionary leaders ever to come
onto the U.S. political scene. We need a president who can inspire and
rally the American people to come forward as a nation to put our
country on a positive course, move us from a politics of hatred and
deceit to a politics of love and honesty, repair our democracy,
rebuild our economy, and restore America's reputation in the world as
a force for peace, democracy, and compassion. Dennis Kucinich is the
man and I'm proud to endorse him for President.

A Note From Peter Coyote

Friends,
I'm writing to urge each of you to send $25 to the campaign of Dennis
Kucinich and to commit to organize three others to do the same thing.
Dennis is the most progressive candidate currently running for
President. Whether or not you finally vote for him is immaterial. A
small donation now will advance his campaign immeasurably, force the
media to pay attention to him, and spread his positions: National
Health for all, anti-Nafta and Gatt, ending the war, de-militarizing
space. There is virtually no difference between his positions and the
Green Party platform, but as a Democratic Congressman, he is not a
symbolic candidate. He is a tried and tested politician who has stayed
true to his principles.

Support Democratic diversity, support a peace initiative and support a
progressive agenda. Try it. It doesn't preclude you from supporting
other candidates, but if you simply support who you think will "win,"
you can't complain when they don't represent your interests.

A letter to our antiwar friends from Barbara Ehrenreich & Marcus Raskin

WHILE OTHERS STOOD SILENT...

More than a year ago, Congressman Dennis Kucinich of Ohio stood up
before the Southern California ADA and boldly challenged the War
Party. His speech was entitled "A Prayer for America," which you can
read by clicking here and here are some of the points he made:

"We did not authorize the invasion of Iraq...
We did not authorize the withdrawal from the Geneva Convention...
We did not authorize the resurrection of COINTELPRO...
We did not authorize the repeal of the Bill of Rights...
We did not authorize the revocation of the Constitution...
We did not authorize the administration to wage war anytime, anywhere,
anyhow it pleases...
We did not authorize war without end...
We did not authorize a permanent war economy..."

All true a year ago. But only Dennis Kucinich was speaking truth to
power then.

Just as true today, even as George W. Bush launches his pre-emptive
strike. But except for Dennis, the silence on Capitol Hill is striking.

Even more true tomorrow, as the peace movement attempts to build its
electoral power, to go along with the astounding people power it has
tapped all around America, and all around the globe.

If this rings true to you, make a donation, volunteer, forward this on
to your friends. Together we can build, as Dennis put it more than a
year ago, an "America which stands not in pursuit of an axis of evil,
but which is itself at the axis of hope and faith and peace and freedom."

A better America is possible.

Barbara Ehrenreich & Marcus Raskin (March 26, 2003)

Lila Garrett is a writer/director who headed the Southern California
Americans for Democratic Action, the venue at which Dennis unveiled
his "Prayer for America."

"For a very long time many of us tried to convince Dennis Kucinich to
run for President. He made his decision in his own way, thoughfully,
after much soul searching and meticulous analysis of the issues. I
love the way his mind works. I have known Dennis for many years,
during all of which he has stood for peace and patience. I watched him
evolve on his position on Choice, for example, the way he listened to
women -- really listened. The way he opposes the Bush administration's
attempt to criminalize abortion. Dennis not only adamantly opposes the
criminalization of abortion, he has come to support Choice not just
with lip service, but with concrete programs to move it forward. He
would fund abortions for poor women through Medicaid. He would make
Roe v. Wade a litmus test for judicial appointments. Once he embraces
a program, he doesn't just let it happen. He makes it happen."

-- April, 2003
Lila has become the Southern California Chair of the Kucinich Campaign

A Letter from Studs Terkel:

When I think of Dennis Kucinich, I think immediately of what our
country is all about. Not only does he have the guts to speak out when
others are silent, when others compromise their principles -- he does
it in a manner that sets all hearts on fire. He speaks hope for those
who have lost hope.

I have followed his career in public life ever since he was "the Boy
Mayor of Cleveland". He, in saving municipal ownership of power from a
corporate take-over, was a young Horatio at the bridge. It cost him
his job, but he saved what is known as MUNY Light. Today, he is
honored by the city, when once he was declared 'dead meat'. He is very
much alive and speaking with his natural eloquence -- the language of
all working men and women, of all small farmers, of all who believe in
a better life and a safer world, for their children and others' children.

He's my man!
