to a young man who had accompanied his mother's ashes

to India and had vowed not to eat flesh nor to

drink alcohol while on the voyage. The guru knew

he was craving the addictive trioxypurine in meat

which is more toxic than caffein.



"I release you from your vow" said the woman

to her husband.. knowing that he loved another.



"I release you from your vow" said the monastery monk

.. to the seminarian knowing that he loved the outside world.



"I release you from your vow" said

the tree whose roots kissed the stream waters.. knowing

that in letting go he would be kissed by many waters.



"I release you from your vow" .. the south pole..

Its opposite north pole:  "always keep your word"

.. their union in equipoise.. in all embracing

tolerance of both: God
