Anthony Shadid, a Boston Globe reporter in its Washington Bureau, was shot Sunday, March 31, as he walked from the compound of Palestinian President Yasser Arafat's to the center of Ramallah.
The bullet entered his left shoulder and exited his right, leaving three pieces of shrapnel behind.
After Shadid was taken to the hospital, he was without medical treatment for a hour -- while Israeli troops entered the facility, gathered the staff in the lobby, and conducted room-by-room searches.
